Secure engine in installation position (F55/F56/F57)

Special tools required: 

Preliminary work needed: 

WARNING: Injury hazard!
Observe following instructions relating to special tool:
  1. Prior to each use, check the special tools for defects, modifications and operational reliability.
  2. Damaged/modified special tools must not be used!
  3. No changes or modifications may be made to the special tools!
  4. Keep special tools dry, clean and free of grease.

Modification: 

Remove front facings from adapter 00 6 030.

Attach special tool 00 0 490 on left and right to 00 6 030.

Assemble cross-member 00 6 100 with special tools 00 6 130, 00 6 030 and 00 6 080.

Unclip filler neck (1) from washer fluid reservoir and lay to one side.

Position assembled cross-member 00 6 100 on shock tower and side member with a 2nd person helping.

(1) = rear right support point.

After mounting the cross-member,

Attach hooks (2 and 3) to suspension lugs.

Slightly pretension the spindle of the engine mount beam.

WARNING: Injury hazard!

Tighten down all adjustment screws, knurled screws and nuts on cross-member 00 6 100 and on special tool 00 0 490.

IMPORTANT: Avoid a change of engine position in the transverse or longitudinal direction!
Always make sure there is sufficient clearance between the engine (or its add-on parts) and the body.
