Throttle Opener Operating Speed

  1. Turn lights and accessories off. Place transmission in Neutral. Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached. On 1.4L and 1.6L engines, electric fan must be off. Make sure that curb idle is within specifications.
  2. If necessary reset idle speed to specifications. Switch A/C switch to "ON" position. Adjust the engine to specified speed with throttle opener screw. Turn the A/C on and off several times to check for throttle lever operation. See Figure .
