G Sensor

  1. Ensure sensor is within one degree of being level. If not, use shims to adjust.
    NOTE: If any oil leakage occurs at the sensor, replace it.
  2. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between "R" terminal of control unit and ground. If not between 7.0-7.5 volts, control unit is faulty.
    CAUTION: Set voltmeter at correct range before measurement to prevent damage to control unit.
  3. Remove sensor. Using a jumper wire, ground the sensor to chassis ground. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between "G" terminal and ground. If not between 4.6-5.0 volts, replace sensor. See Fig 1 .
