Rear Brake Control System Quick Check
NOTE:
If any problem exists in the system, check all components (including wiring harness) except the control unit. If all components check out, replace the control unit.
- With vehicle stationary, operate engine for at least 5 seconds. Turn the ignition key to "LOCK" position and step on the brake pedal. Turn the ignition key to "ON" position and confirm the clicking sound of the operating modulator.
- Raise rear of vehicle, support on stands, and block front wheels. Warm up engine and place transmission in second gear. Accelerate to a steady 19 MPH.
- Step hard on brake pedal. Brakes should attempt to slow down rotation of the rear wheels. At an appropriate time, fluid will be cut-off and wheels should resume normal rotation.
