Idle Position Switch

The Idle Position Switch (IPS) is mounted on fuel injection mixer. When throttle valve is closed, the switch is activated. When throttle valve is at any other position, the switch is deactivated. This information is used by the ECU for controlling fuel delivery time (during deceleration) and air injection system. This switch is also used as an idle speed adjusting device. See Figure .
