"G" Sensor

  1. Ensure sensor is mounted correctly. Sensor must be within one degree of being level. If not, use shims to adjust to level.
    NOTE: If any oil leakage occurs with the sensor, replace it.
  2. Check voltage between terminal "R" of control unit and ground. If not 7.0-7.5 volts, control unit is faulty.
    CAUTION: Set voltmeter at correct range before measurement to prevent damage to control unit.
  3. Remove sensor and ground to car body using wire. Measure voltage between "G" terminal and ground. Voltage should be 1.1-1.5 volts. Place sensor so manufacturer's mark is upward. Measure voltage between "G" terminal and ground. Voltage should be 4.6-5.0 volts. If voltage is not as specified, replace sensor. See Figure .
