Self-Diagnosis Test: Notes
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position. Connect voltmeter to self-diagnosis output harness connector located in glove box (Starion) or engine compartment (all others). See Fig 1.
- Turn ignition switch to "ON" position and indication of ECU memory will start. Record any abnormal diagnostic codes and perform the necessary component repairs.
- After checking and repair, disconnect battery negative ground cable (turn ignition off first) for 15 seconds or more to erase abnormal code memory.
NOTE:
Memory of oxygen sensor is erased when ignition switch is turned off. To diagnose oxygen sensor, drive vehicle a good distance and keep engine running.
