Idle-Up Control
The idle-up solenoid valve is used to increase idle speed when additional loads are placed on the engine. The ECU senses power steering load at idle and any additional electrical load such as air conditioning. The ECU energizes the idle-up solenoid to transfer intake manifold vacuum to the dashpot. The throttle valve is slightly opened by the dashpot via the idle-up lever. When the electrical load is turned off, the ECU de-energizes the solenoid valve and the idle-up system operation is suspended.
