Engine Performance: System: Turbocharger: Overhaul: Disassembly

1. Remove turbocharger assembly from engine. Remove manifold vacuum hose and wastegate actuator from compressor cover. Remove coupling band, exhaust turbine housing and wastegate valve assembly.
   CAUTION: Never attempt to field adjust the wastegate valve or actuator, it has been adjusted by the turbocharger manufacturer.
2. With compressor cover facing down, remove the snap ring retainer from compressor cover. Tap compressor cover around circumference with a soft faced hammer (plastic or rubber) to separate turbine cartridge from compressor housing.

NOTE: The turbine cartridge assembly may resist separation from compressor housing because of "O" ring installed on the outer edge of the cartridge.
