Fuel Injection System - ECI System: Testing: Injectors
- Remove large plastic air intake pipe. Disconnect high tension cable from ignition coil. To check injector operation, look through air inlet of injection mixer with ignition switch in "ST" position. Unless injection is very poor, injector state should be considered normal. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and check for leaks.
- To check operation of other injector, disconnect connector from known good injector and install it on other injector. Ensure harness has adequate slack so engine torque will not damage harness. Check injector as outlined in step 1).
- Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between injector terminals. Standard resistance is 2-3 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not to specification, replace injector.
