System Test
- Disconnect air supply hose from air cleaner and hold a small flat metal plate at hose end to check for suction. Start engine. Let Idle. With coolant temperature between 68-104°F (20-40°C), suction should be felt.
- Run engine until coolant temperature is 158°F (70°C) or higher. Turn ignition off. Restart engine. Let idle. There should be suction for up to 70 seconds, after which there should be none.
- Bring engine to 4000 RPM and decelerate rapidly. Suction should be felt.
