System Test

  1. Disconnect air supply hose from air cleaner and hold a small flat metal plate at hose end to check for suction. Start engine. Let Idle. With coolant temperature between 68-104°F (20-40°C), suction should be felt.
  2. Run engine until coolant temperature is 158°F (70°C) or higher. Turn ignition off. Restart engine. Let idle. There should be suction for up to 70 seconds, after which there should be none.
  3. Bring engine to 4000 RPM and decelerate rapidly. Suction should be felt.
