Key Interlock System

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Depress brake pedal and ensure selector lever cannot be moved from "P" position. Ensure selector lever button cannot be pushed. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Depress brake pedal and push selector lever button. Ensure selector lever can be moved from "P" position. Ensure selector lever moves smoothly.
  2. Ensure ignition key cannot be turned to OFF position in any selector lever position other than "P" position. Ensure ignition key turns smoothly to OFF position when selector lever is placed in "P" position and selector lever button is released. If key interlock system operation is not as specified, adjust key interlock cable. See KEY INTERLOCK CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
