Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

TP SENSOR ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS

Application TP Sensor Terminals No. (1) Millivolts
Diamante With Traction Control 1 & 3 580-690
Diamante Without Traction Control 1 & 3 (2) 400-1000
Eclipse, Eclipse Spyder & Galant 1 & 3 535-735
Mirage 1.5L & Mirage 1.8L Without Cruise Control 2 & 4 (3) 400-1000
Mirage 1.8L With Cruise Control 2 & 4 (2) 400-1000
Montero 1 & 3 535-735
Montero Sport 3.0L 1 & 3 (4) 400-1000
Montero Sport 3.5L 1 & 3 535-735
(1) With ignition on and TP sensor in idle position.
(2) Test with .055" (1.4 mm) thick feeler gauge inserted maximum .118" (3 mm) deep between throttle lever and free lever.
(3) Test with .177" (.45 mm) thick feeler gauge inserted between fixed SAS and throttle lever.
(4) With Cruise Control, test with .055" (1.4 mm) thick feeler gauge inserted maximum .118" (3 mm) deep between throttle lever and free lever. Without Cruise Control, test with .026" (.65 mm) thick feeler gauge inserted between fixed SAS and throttle lever.

(1) With TP sensor in idle position.
(2) Resistance should smoothly change as throttle is opened.
