Ground Circuits
- Turn ignition off. Backprobe and check for continuity between chassis ground and ECM/PCM ground terminal(s). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open circuit between ECM/PCM connector and chassis ground. Ensure suspect ground connection is clean and tight.
- Backprobe and measure voltage between chassis ground and ECM/PCM ground terminal(s). With engine operating at normal operating temperature, voltage should be less than one volt. If voltage is more than one volt, check for open, corrosion or loose connection in ground circuit.
