No Communication With All Systems: Testing

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and DLC terminal No. 16 (White/Black wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair connectors and/or wiring between DLC and power supply (fusible link No. 1). See Fig 1 . Recheck communication.
  2. Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and DLC terminals No. 4 and 5 (Black wires). If continuity exists at each terminal, repair or replace scan tool as necessary. If continuity does not exist at one or both terminals, repair appropriate Black wire between ground and DLC. Recheck communication.
