Accelerator Cable Check And Adjustment
- Turn the A/C and lights OFF. Inspect and adjust the accelerator cable at no load.
- Warm engine until stabilized at idle.
- Confirm idle speed is at standard value.
- Standard value: 700 +/- 100 r/min
- Stop the engine. [ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) position.]
- Confirm there are no sharp bends in the accelerator cable.
- Check the inner cable for correct slack.
- Standard value: 1.0-2.0 mm (0.04-0.08 inch)
- If there is too much slack or no slack, adjust play by the following procedures.
- Loosen the look nut and fully close the throttle lever.
- Tighten the adjusting nut until just before the throttle lever starts to move.
- By loosening the adjusting nut one turn, the accelerator cable slack will be brought to the standard value.
- Fix the adjusting nut with the look nut.
- After adjusting, check that the throttle lever is touching the stopper.
