How To Shift Lock Forced Release

If the shift lever cannot be moved from the P position due to discharged battery or similar reasons, release the shift lock by observing the procedure below.

< TC-SST> 

  1. Remove the floor console box cup holder and the floor console panel assembly (Refer to FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the position other than the LOCK (OFF) position.
  3. Insert a screwdriver or a similar tool from the section "A" shown in the illustration. While pressing the shift lock forced release switch, move the shift lever.
