Learning Procedure

Required Special Tools:

MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: V.C.I.
- MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A

CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958.

After the ignition switch is in "LOCK" (OFF) position, disconnect the battery cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the battery current sensor from the battery cable (Do not disconnect the battery current sensor connector).
Connect the battery cable without the battery current sensor to the negative battery terminal.

Connect scan tool MB991958 to the data link connector (But do not start the engine).
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Select "MFI" from System select Screen of scan tool MB991958.
Select "Special Function" from MFI Screen.
Select "Learning" from Special Function Screen.
Select "Battery current SNSR.calibration" from Learning Screen.
Start the calibration by pressing the "OK" button.
Confirm that the scan tool MB991958 data list item No. 119 Battery current sensor calibration is "Completed".
After the ignition switch is in "LOCK" (OFF) position, disconnect scan tool MB991958.
Install the battery current sensor.
