>>A<< Timing Chain Case Installation

CAUTION:

Completely remove all the old liquid gasket, which might be remaining in the installation hole, the o-ring groove or among the components such as the cylinder head gasket.
Sufficiently check that there is no residual oil on the place where degreasing is performed. If fingerprints are left, do not touch it with bare hands after the degreasing, since the oils from your fingers will harm the seal ability.

Completely remove liquid gasket adhering to the timing chain case, cylinder block and cylinder head.
Degrease the surface where the liquid gasket is applied and the contact surface between the cylinder block and the cylinder head.
CAUTION: The timing chain case should be installed within 10 minutes of applying liquid gasket.
Apply a 2.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.08 ± 0.02 inch) bead of liquid gasket to location A, and a 1.75 ± 0.5 mm (0.069 ± 0.02 inch) bead of liquid gasket to location B on the timing chain case respectively as illustrated.
Specified sealant
1. Three bond 1217G or equivalent
2. Three bond 1227D or equivalent
Install the timing chain case.
NOTE: The retaining bolts have different lengths. Be sure to use the correct bolt for each location.

Tighten timing chain case mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque

M6: 9.5 ± 2.5 N.m (84 ± 22 in-lb)

M10: 42 ± 16 N.m (31 ± 11 ft-lb)
