Detonation Retard Operation

Problems with the detonation retard circuit should cause Code 34 to be set. If Code 34 is present, see CODE 34 chart in G - TEST W/ CODES article. Check knock sensor wire for open or short to ground. Check knock sensor shield ground wire for continuity to ground. Check routing of knock sensor wire. Wire should not be routed close to spark plug wires or high output accessories.
