Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (CALIFORNIA)
Faults in exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit may set Code 35. To test system, see CODE 35 diagnostic procedures in appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section below.
To test sensor, place sensor in boiling water at 212°F (100°C). Resistance at 212°F (100°C) should be 76,770-93,830 ohms. As temperature increases, sensor resistance should decrease. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor.
