Idle Air Volume Learning Procedure: Preparation

NOTE: Before performing procedure ensure that all of the following conditions are met. Learning will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are not met even momentarily.
  • Battery voltage greater than 12.9 @ idle.
  • Engine coolant temperature between 158-203°F (70-95°C).
  • PNP switch ON.
  • Electric load switch OFF (A/C, headlamps, rear window defogger off, daytime running lamps set to LOW).
  • Steering wheel straight ahead.
  • Vehicle stopped.
  • Transmission warmed up; drive vehicle for 10 minutes to ensure transmission fluid is warm.
