Fuel Pressure Check
- When reconnecting fuel line, always use new clamps.
- Make sure that clamp screws do not contact adjacent parts.
- Use a torque driver to tighten clamps.
- Use Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit J-44321 to check fuel pressure.
- Release fuel pressure to zero.
- Disconnect fuel hose from fuel feed tube (engine side) using fuel tube quick connect removal tool.
- Release quick connector and disconnect fuel hose from fuel feed tube (underbody side). Remove fuel hose assembly.CAUTION: Do not install hose clamps over flared portions of fuel feed tubes or damage to fuel feed tubes may result.
- Install fuel pressure gauge from kit J-44321 between fuel tubes using hose and clamps from kit.
- Turn ignition switch ON and check for fuel leakage.
- Start engine and read the indication on fuel pressure gauge.
- At idle speed: Approximately 350 kPa (3.57 kg/cm 2 , 51 psi)
If results are unsatisfactory, check for fuel leakage in fuel line between fuel tank and injector.
If OK, replace fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump assembly. Refer to INJECTOR .
