Vehicle Speed Signal Check for NAVI Control Unit

  1. CHECK HARNESS 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect NAVI control unit connector and unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
    3. Check continuity between NAVI control unit harness connector M63 terminal 28 (V/W) and unified meter and A/C amp. harness connector M50 terminal 26 (V/W).
      1. Continuity should exist. 
    4. Check continuity between NAVI control unit harness connector M63 terminal 28 (V/W) and ground.
      1. Continuity should not exist. 

    OK or NG

    1. OK : GO TO 2.
    2. NG : Repair harness.

  2. CHECK1: VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL 
    1. Connect NAVI control unit connector and unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between NAVI control unit harness connector M63 terminal 28 (V/W) and ground.
      1. Approx. 3.5V or more 

    OK or NG

    1. OK : GO TO 3.
    2. NG : Replace NAVI control unit.

  3. CHECK2: VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL 
    1. Drive vehicle at a constant speed.
    2. Check signal between NAVI control unit harness connector M63 terminal 28 (V/W) and ground with CONSULT-II or oscilloscope.
      1. 28 (V/W) - Ground : Refer to " TERMINALS AND REFERENCE VALUE FOR NAVI CONTROL UNIT   ".  

    OK or NG

    1. OK : Replace NAVI control unit.
    2. NG : Check combination meter system. Refer to DIAGNOSIS FLOW .
