Check Key Switch

- CHECK KEY SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
Check ignition key switch "IGN ON SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
- When key is inserted in ignition key cylinder
KEY ON SW: ON
- When key is removed from ignition key cylinder
KEY ON SW: OFF
Without CONSULT-II
Check voltage between BCM connector and ground.
OK or NG
- OK: Key switch circuit is OK
- NG: GO TO 2.
- When key is inserted in ignition key cylinder
- CHECK KEY SWITCH
Check continuity between key switch connector M28 terminals 3 and 4.

OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 3.
- NG: Replace key switch.
- CHECK KEY SWITCH CIRCUIT
- Disconnect BCM connector.
- Check continuity between BCM harness connector M34 terminal 37 (B/R) and key switch harness connector M28 terminal 4 (B/R).
37 (B/R) - 4 (B/R): Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between BCM harness connector M34 terminal 37 (B/R) and ground.
37 (B/R) - Ground: Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Check the following.
- 10A fuse [No.21, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
- Harness for open or short between key switch and fuse
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
