Vehicle Speed Signal Check

  1. HARNESS CHECK 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect AV and NAVI control unit connector and combination meter connector.
    3. Check continuity between AV and NAVI control unit harness connector B29 terminal 28 (OR/L) and combination meter harness connector M41 terminal 37 (OR/L).
      1. Continuity should exist.

    4. Check continuity between AV and NAVI control unit harness connector B29 terminal 28 (OR/L) and ground.
      1. Continuity should not exist. 

    OK or NG 

    OK >> GO TO 2.

    NG >> Repair harness.

  2. VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL CHECK 1 
    1. Connect AV and NAVI control unit connector and combination meter connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between AV and NAVI control unit harness connector B29 terminal 28 (OR/L) and ground.
      1. Approx. 3.5V or more 

    OK or NG 

    OK >> GO TO 3.

    NG >> Replace AV and NAVI control unit

  3. VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL CHECK 2 
    1. Drive vehicle at a constant speed.
    2. Check the signal between AV and NAVI control unit harness connector B29 terminal 28 (OR/L) and ground with CONSULT-II or oscilloscope.
      1. 28 (OR/L) - Ground : Refer to " TERMINALS AND REFERENCE VALUE FOR AV AND NAVI CONTROL UNIT   "  .

    OK or NG 

    OK >> Replace AV and NAVI control unit.

    NG >> Check combination meter system, refer to "INSPECTION/VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL ".
