Method A

CAUTION:

Before disconnecting fuel line, release fuel pressure from fuel line to eliminate danger.
Be careful not to scratch or get the fuel hose connection area dirty when servicing, so that the quick connector o-ring maintains sealability.
When reconnecting fuel line, always use new clamps.
Make sure that clamp screws do not contact adjacent parts.
Use a torque driver to tighten clamps.
Use Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit J-44321 to check fuel pressure.

Release fuel pressure to zero.
Disconnect fuel hose from fuel feed tube (engine side) using fuel tube quick connect removal tool.

Release quick connector and disconnect fuel hose from fuel feed tube (underbody side). Remove fuel hose assembly.
CAUTION: Do not install hose clamps over flared portions of fuel feed tubes or damage to fuel feed tubes may result.
Install fuel pressure gauge from kit J-44321 between fuel tubes using hose and clamps from kit.
Turn ignition switch ON and check for fuel leakage.
Start engine and read the indication on fuel pressure gauge.
At idle speed:

Approximately 350 kPa (3.57 kg/cm ² , 51 psi)

If results are unsatisfactory, check for fuel leakage in fuel line between fuel tank and injector.

If OK, replace fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump assembly. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
