DTC B2648, Light Sensor Short To Battery

  1. If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Disconnect BFC 24-pin, Gray connector C2. Disconnect ambient light sensor from top of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between ambient light sensor harness terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If zero volts exists, go to step 4). If zero volts does not exists, go to next step.
  3. Repair short to battery in Yellow/Black wire between ambient light sensor and BFC connector C2. Go to step 9).
  4. Using DVOM, check voltage between ambient light sensor harness terminal "A" (Light Green/Black wire) and ground. If zero volts exists, go to step 6). If zero volts does not exist, go to next step.
  5. Repair short to battery in Light Green/Black wire between ambient light sensor and BFC connector C2. Go to step 9).
  6. Replace ambient light sensor. Go to next step.
  7. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B2647 exists, go to next step. If DTC B2647 does not exist, go to step 9).
  8. Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Go to next step.
  9. Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
