Charging Systems: Diagnosis

Noise from a generator may be caused by a loose drive pulley, loose mounting boltys, worn or dirty bearings, defective diode or defective stator.

For complete wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM . Generator is controlled by PCM. If charging system malfunction occurs, DTC may be set in memory. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article.
