Memory Recall Functions Inoperative
- If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check was not performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Ensure left outside mirror control switch is in left, right or off positions. Turn ignition off. Ground memory seat diagnostic connector. Memory seat/memory mirror control module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate DRIVER-1, DRIVER-2 and memory set buttons. Memory seat/memory mirror control module should chime once at each switch input. If any switch input does not cause a chime to sound, go to step 6). If all switch inputs cause a chime to sound, go to next step.
- Remove ground from memory seat diagnostic connector, and within 5 seconds, ground memory seat diagnostic connector again. Module will chime 2 times to indicate Mode 2 has been entered. Operate seat and mirrors in all directions. Module will chime once at each open, shorted or faulty position sensor or circuit. If any switch input causes a chime to sound, go to next step. If no switch inputs cause a chime to sound, go to step 9).
- Check for open or short in Gray wire between appropriate position sensor and memory seat/memory mirror control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Check for open or short in Black wire between appropriate position sensor and memory seat/memory mirror control module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to step 9). If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Check for open in White wire (DRIVER-1), Purple wire (DRIVER-2) or Orange wire (Memory Set) between left seat switch and memory seat/memory mirror control module Blue 32-pin connector C2. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Replace left seat switch. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Repair open or short in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK.
- System is functioning properly. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If symptom still exists, replace memory seat/memory mirror control module. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
