DTC P0462: Fuel Level Sensor Signal Shorted To Ground: Testing
- If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Disconnect fuel tank module connector. Using scan tool, check resistance of Black/White wire at fuel tank module harness connector terminal "D". If resistance is greater than 250 ohms, go to step 9). If resistance is not greater than 250 ohms, go to next step.
- Back out left I/P wiring harness junction block Black 30-pin connector C3, terminal A12 (Black/White wire). Using scan tool, check resistance of Black/White wire at fuel tank module harness connector terminal "D". If resistance is greater than 250 ohms, go to step 5). If resistance is not greater than 250 ohms, go to next step.
- Repair short to ground in Black/White wire between left I/P wiring harness junction block connector C3 and fuel tank module. Go to step 12).
- Back out left I/P wiring harness junction block Gray 30-pin connector C2, terminal A1 (Black wire). Using scan tool, check resistance of Black/White wire at fuel tank module harness connector terminal "D". If resistance is greater than 250 ohms, go to step 8). If resistance is not greater than 250 ohms, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, check resistance between left I/P wiring harness junction block connector C2, terminal A1 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is infinite, go to step 9). If resistance is not infinite, go to next step.
- Repair short to ground in Black wire between left I/P wiring harness junction block connector C2 and BFC connector C2. Go to step 12).
- Replace left I/P wiring harness junction block. Go to step 12).
- Reconnect all disconnected components. Replace fuel tank module. Go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC P0462 exists, go to next step. If DTC P0462 does not exist, go to step 12).
- Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
