Diagnostic Procedures

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Perform theft deterrent relearn procedures. See procedures in BCM PROGRAMMING  . After performing relearn procedures, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, select BCM DTCS function. check if any DTC is present. If DTC is present, go to next step. If no DTC is present, go to step 6).
  4. Diagnose DTC using appropriate DTC diagnostic test. After diagnosing DTC, go to next step. If DTC cannot be repaired or cleared, go to next step.
  5. Replace BCM. Perform new BCM relearn procedure. See procedures in BCM PROGRAMMING  . After programming BCM, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
