Left Front Window Inoperative, Others Operate Normally

  1. Disconnect left front window regulator motor connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a test light between left front window motor wiring harness connector Dark Blue wire terminal and Brown wire terminal. While observing test light, move master left front window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step 15). If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect master window switch connector. Using DVOM, check continuity of Brown wire between master window switch harness connector and left front window regulator motor harness connector. If continuity exist, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, go to step 4).
  3. Connect test light between ground and master window switch connector Brown wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to step 5). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 6).
  4. Repair poor connection or open in Brown wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  5. Repair short to voltage in Brown wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  6. Connect test light between battery voltage and master window switch harness connector Brown wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
  7. Repair short to ground in Brown wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  8. Using DVOM, check continuity of Dark Blue wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. If continuity exists, go to step 10). If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair poor connection or open in Dark Blue wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  10. Connect test light between ground and master window switch Dark Blue wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
  11. Repair short to power in Dark Blue wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  12. Connect test light between ground and master window switch harness connector Dark Blue wire terminal. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
  13. Repair short to voltage in Dark Blue wire between master window switch and left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
  14. Replace master window switch. Recheck system operation.
  15. Replace left front window regulator motor. Recheck system operation.
