Left Seat Does Not Manually Move In Any Direction
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect fused jumper (20-amp) between ground and memory seat diagnostic connector. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate driver's seat switch in all directions. Memory seat/mirror module should chime once at each switch input. If any switch input does not cause a chime to sound, go to next step. If all switch inputs cause a chime to sound, go to LEFT SEAT DOES NOT MANUALLY MOVE IN ONE DIRECTION and diagnose each suspect switch individually.
- Disconnect left seat switch connector. Using DVOM, check voltage between left seat switch harness connector terminal "H" (Orange wire) and ground. If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go to step 6).
- Check voltage between left seat switch harness connector terminals "H" (Orange wire) and "G" (Black wire). If 10-15 volts exists, go to next step. If 10-15 volts does not exist, go to step 7).
- Replace left seat switch.
- Repair open or short to ground in Orange wire between left seat switch and instrument panel fuse block.
- Repair open in Black wire between left seat switch and ground.
