Memory Recall Functions Inoperative
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK
under TROUBLE SHOOTING to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- Ensure outside mirror control switch is in left, right or off positions. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect fused jumper (20-amp) between ground and memory seat diagnostic connector. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Operate DRIVER-1, DRIVER-2 and MEMORY SET buttons. Memory seat/mirror module should chime once at each switch input. If any switch input does not cause a chime to sound, go to step 6). If all switch inputs cause a chime to sound, go to next step.
- Remove ground from memory seat diagnostic connector, and within 5 seconds, ground memory seat diagnostic connector again. Module will chime 2 times to indicate Mode 2 has been entered. Operate seat and mirrors in all directions. Module will chime once at each open, shorted or faulty position sensor or circuit. If any switch input causes a chime to sound, go to next step. If no switch inputs cause a chime to sound, go to step 9).
- Check for open or short in Gray wire between appropriate position sensor and memory seat/mirror module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Check for open or short in Black wire between appropriate position sensor and memory seat/mirror module. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, go to step 9). If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Check for open in White wire (DRIVER-1), Purple wire (DRIVER-2) or Orange wire (Memory Set) between left seat switch and memory seat/mirror module 32-pin connector C2 (Blue). If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 8).
- Replace left seat switch.
- Repair open or short in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- System is functioning properly. Perform MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If symptom still exists, replace memory seat/mirror module.
