Diagnostic Procedures
- If I/M system check has been performed, go to next step. If I/M system check has not been performed, go to INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE SYSTEM CHECK .
- Ensure vehicle is operating with conditions for running this procedure. See ENABLE CRITERIA . Turn off all accessories, including A/C and blower fan. Start engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes. Accelerate at part throttle to 45 MPH and maintain speed for 3 minutes or until I/M system status indicator updates to YES. Using scan tool, monitor I/M system status display. If AIR system status updates to YES, go to step 5. If AIR system status did not update to YES, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, observe DTC information. If scan tool indicates any failed DTCs, perform appropriate diagnostic test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If scan tool does not indicate any failed DTCs, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, observe NOT RAN SINCE CODE CLEARED display to determine if DTC P0410 has run. If DTC has not ran, operate vehicle under conditions to meet code enable criteria until DTC runs. See DTC P0410: SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Using scan tool, observe I/M system status display. If AIR system status updated to YES, go to next step. If AIR system status did not update to YES, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Using scan tool, observe emission related DTC portion of I/M system status display. If scan tool indicates any emission related DTCs, perform appropriate diagnostic test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If scan tool does not indicate any emission related DTCs, system is okay.
