Installation Procedure
- Install the negative battery cable into the wiring harness conduit.
- Install the battery cable harness to the vehicle.
- Install the battery cable harness to the retainers.
- Install the battery ground cable to the transaxle stud.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the transaxle stud nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the generator output BAT terminal wire to the generator.
- Install the generator output BAT terminal nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Install the protective boot to the generator output BAT terminal.
- Install the BAT terminal wiring harness connector (3) to the solenoid BAT terminal.
- Install the BAT terminal nut (4) to the starter solenoid BAT terminal.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the front lower air deflector. Refer to RADIATOR AIR BAFFLE AND DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT in Engine Cooling.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the positive battery cable harness to the BEC.
- Install the BEC to the strut tower.
- Install the positive battery cable to the BEC.
- Install the junction block lead nut to the positive battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the remote positive stud cover.
- Install the ground wire and the bolt to the frame.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Connect the positive battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
