Removal & Installation: Generator: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2. Remove battery tray.
  3. Remove drive belt.
  4. Remove engine cooling fan assembly.
  5. Remove thermostat housing and radiator hose.
  6. Remove outboard generator bolt. See Fig 1.
  7. Loosen inboard generator bolt.
  8. Remove idler pulley bolt and idler pulley.
  9. Disconnect electrical connector from generator. See Fig 2.
  10. Reposition protective boot from generator output BAT terminal for access.
  11. Remove generator output BAT terminal nut and disconnect battery positive lead from generator.
  12. Remove generator.
