Conditions For Running DTC

The following conditions are for non-scan tool service bay test equipped vehicles.

• Barometric pressure is more than 10.5 psi (72 kPa).
• Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) is 39-86°F (4-30°C).
• Intake Air Temperature (IAT) is 39-86°F (4-30°C).
• Difference between ECT and IAT is less than 14°F (8°C).
• Fuel level is 15-18 percent full.
• Battery voltage is 10-18 volts.

The following conditions are for scan tool service bay test equipped vehicles.

• Barometric pressure is more than 10.5 psi (72 kPa).
• Engine coolant temperature is less than 158°F (70°C).
• Fuel level is 15-18 percent full.
• Battery voltage is 9-18 volts.
