Circuit Description

The battery positive voltage is supplied directly to the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) turns MIL ON by grounding the MIL control circuit.

Perform the Engine Controls Diagnostic System Check, when the following conditions are present:
