Removal & Installation: Generator: Installation
- Position generator to engine.
- Connect electrical connector to generator. See Figure.
- Connect battery positive lead and install generator output BAT terminal nut. Tighten generator output BAT terminal nut to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m).
- Press protective boot on to generator output BAT terminal.
- Install outboard generator bolt into generator housing. See Figure.
- Install generator on inboard generator bolt and finger tighten outboard bolt.
- Install idler pulley and idler pulley bolt.
- Tighten bolts in order described. The following is a mandatory torque sequence:
- Tighten idler pulley bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m).
- Tighten generator bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (50 N.m).
- Install thermostat housing and radiator hose.
- Install engine cooling fan assembly.
- Install battery tray.
- Install drive belt.
- Connect battery negative cable.
