ESC Vacuum Transducer Test

  1. Connect an adjustable timing light or timing probe and tachometer to engine. Start engine and warm to operating temperature. Remove and plug hose at vacuum transducer.
  2. Connect suitable vacuum pump to vacuum transducer and apply 14 in. Hg vacuum. Raise engine speed to 2000 RPM, wait 1 minute and check timing. Advance specifications should be as specified and are in addition to basic timing. Refer to Distributor Specifications in this section. 
  3. Return engine to curb idle. Turn engine off, remove all test equipment and reconnect vacuum hose to vacuum transducer.
