Throttle Opener System: Description

The throttle opener system is installed on all front-wheel drive models and only on air conditioned rear-wheel drive models. The throttle opener system operates at predetermined engine speeds to open the throttle plate slightly during operation of air conditioner. On front-wheel drive models, the throttle opener is also activated when lighting system is used. System components include the throttle opener diaphragm, solenoid valve and engine speed sensor (deceleration switch).
