Throttle Opener Operating Speed

Turn lights and accessories off, place transmission in Neutral. Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached. On 1.4L and 1.6L electric fan must be off. Make sure that curb idle is within specifications. If necessary reset idle speed to specifications.
On 2.0L and 2.6L engines turn A/C on. On 1.4L and 1.6L engines turn A/C off, and disconnect vacuum hose from throttle opener nipple. Connect vacuum pump to nipple and apply 19 in. hg.
Adjust engine speed to specification with throttle opener screw. See Figure .
