Electronic Control Unit (Ecu)

The ECU is mounted behind passenger's kick panel and controls all ECI functions. The ECU consists of a printed circuit board enclosed within a metal box. The ECU receives various signals from sensors and switches. These signals are processed by the ECU for controlling fuel delivery, EGR, solenoid valve for pressure sensor, idle speed and air injection system.

During closed loop operation, the ECU stores the mean values of feedback signals used to maintain 14.7:1 air fuel ratio. During open loop operation, the ECU uses these mean values to modify preprogrammed information. By doing this, the ECU can more closely control exhaust emissions even when engine is in open loop mode of operation.
