  1. Disconnect readout box from engine harness connector. Connect a voltmeter to cavity No. 4 of the engine harness connector and ground. Turn ignition switch to the "RUN" position. If voltmeter reads between 4-5 volts, voltage is okay. Proceed to step 2). If voltage is not okay, proceed to step 3).
  2. Turn ignition to the "OFF" position. Disconnect 14-pin connector from computer. Connect ohmmeter between cavity No. 2 of engine harness diagnostic connector and cavity No. 14 of the computer 14-pin connector. If ohmmeter shows continuity, ensure the terminal connection is okay and replace computer. If there is no continuity, repair wire of cavity No. 14 for an open circuit to the engine harness connector.
  3. With readout box disconnected, turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect the 14-pin connector from the computer. Connect an ohmmeter between cavity No. 4 of the engine harness connector and cavity No. 1 of the computer 14-pin connector. If ohmmeter shows continuity, ensure the terminal in connector cavity No. 1 is not spread apart causing a poor connection. If connection is okay, replace computer. If there is no continuity, repair wire of cavity No. 1 for an open circuit to the engine wiring harness.
