Test 16 - Carburetor Idle System Check
- Connect tachometer to engine. Remove air cleaner. If equipped, disconnect and plug vacuum hose at solenoid kicker. Start engine, momentarily raise engine speed to more than 1100 RPM, and then wait 2 minutes for idle speed to stabilize. Plug idle air bleed hole.
- Engine speed should drop. If engine speed drops, proceed to TEST 17 . If engine speed does not drop or increases, repair carburetor for a plugged idle circuit.
