Idle Position Switch (1.8L)

  1. Idle position switch is integral with idle speed control servo, located on throttle body. Disconnect motor position sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between motor position sensor connector terminal No. 4 and body ground. See Fig 1.
  2. With accelerator pedal depressed, continuity should not exist. With accelerator pedal released, continuity should exist. Replace idle speed control servo assembly if switch does not test as specified.
