One Passenger's Door Fails To Lock & Unlock

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Remove inner door trim to gain access to door lock motor. See FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL  or REAR DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect door lock motor connector. Connect a 12-volt test light between door lock motor connector terminals No. 4, door lock driver circuit (Orange/Black wire) and No. 6, door unlock driver circuit (Pink/Violet wire). See Figure . Press door lock switch to lock and unlock positions. If test light does not illuminate when door lock switch is pressed, go to next step. If test light illuminates when door lock switch is pressed, replace door lock motor.
  2. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Black 26-pin RKE module connector, located under center of instrument panel top cover. See Figure . Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of door unlock driver circuit (Pink/Violet wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 6 and door lock motor connector terminal No. 3. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Pink/Violet wire.
  3. Using ohmmeter, check resistance of door lock driver circuit (Orange/Black wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 4 and driver's door lock motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Orange/Black wire.
