Trunk Release Solenoid
- Ensure Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is operating correctly by pressing LOCK and UNLOCK buttons. Ensure trunk release solenoid connector is connected. If transmitter is working correctly and trunk release solenoid connector is connected, disconnect trunk release solenoid connector and go to next step.
- Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between ground and trunk release solenoid harness connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Black wire between ground and trunk release solenoid connector terminal No. 2.
- Connect a test light between ground and trunk release solenoid connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green/Black wire). Press RKE transmitter TRUNK RELEASE button. If test light illuminates, replace trunk release solenoid. See TRUNK RELEASE SOLENOID under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If test light does not illuminate, see DECKLID SOLENOID INOPERATIVE test in BODY CONTROL MODULES - NEON article.
